About Me

In my life before becoming a yoga teacher I have worn many hats: I have completed a Masters in Psychology and worked in Psychology research, been a clothing buyer, a food buyer, and a marketeer. I have lived all around the UK but came to settle back home in Glasgow with my amazing Irish husband, Ruairi, and our beautiful boys Gabriel and Malachy.
In 2018 we were blessed after a long journey with the addition of our baby girl Clodagh, the light of all our lives! 2018 was the year of girl power as I was delighted to have my sister Katy train as a YogaBellies teacher and join me in teaching classes in East Kilbride!
2019 has started with a real bang! I have completed an additional qualification in Fertility Yoga which will be rolled out in 2019 and together with a friend have opened a Centre for Learning, Well-Being and Growth called The Luna Centre which will be the permanent home for YogaBellies East Kilbride! We have created a warm welcoming boutique space, and I would love to welcome you along!! And as if 2019 couldn’t get any better I have just won YogaBellies Teacher of the Year for 2019 as voted for by my fellow franchisees!

Why I became a YogaBellies Teacher...

I have practised yoga since I was 17 but my passion for yoga was only really ignited when I joined a pregnancy yoga class when pregnant with my first baby boy. I developed a fascination with perinatal psychology and the effect of yoga and meditation on both the mother the unborn child. I can honestly say I do not know how mums who go through a pregnancy without yoga do it! The benefits for my aching pregnant body and the chance to have some ‘me’ relaxation and meditation time while juggling a full time job and morning sickness were just invaluable. The breathing techniques I learned and the more supple and strong body I developed also stood me in good stead for the birth. My pregnancy journey and a new passion for yoga only really gave me one option when my maternity leave ran out- I had to teach other pregnant woman the benefits of yoga! To teach other woman and babies is just a complete privilege and a dream come true.
