About Me

I used to be a flight attendant for many years out in Dubai. I worked my way up until I was managing the whole aircraft and crew and I loved my job. Then one day I met my husband who was over on holiday. We became friends and a year later we got together, two months later we were married and planning to have a baby. Fortunately for us just a few months later baby Flynn was conceived I quit my job and moved to Glasgow!

I had travelled the world for years and after a while one city (or rather hotel room) started to look like another so I used to pack my yoga mat in my suitcase which not only gave me something new to do but kept me fit and healthy (and sane!) whilst doing long haul flights and travelling through several times zones.

So that’s where my love of yoga began and became a hobby. Other loves in my life (husband and baby aside) include Jiffy my toy poodle, cooking (especially now my baby boy is eating), body balance classes, interior decoration, shopping (for everything I just love shops), smelly candles and foaming hand soaps from bath & body works, and travel (cities, beaches, cruises everywhere and anywhere).

Why I became a YogaBellies Teacher...

I discovered my passion for yoga slowly over the years trying out many different types and classes all over the world. I discovered Yogabellies during my pregnancy. I had not only moved to a new city but a new country and barely knew a soul. I wanted to keep fit and healthy and also meet new people. I did both of these through my Yogabellies for pregnancy classes. I not only got to keep up my yoga practice but I was also very relaxed and prepared for my labour. I had a natural birth and used my yoga breathing to get me through it. Now my son get to practice together and I find it very beneficial to him as a toddler (and before as a baby). Not only does he have an amazing strength he is confident and well balanced (and not to mention how well he sleeps after a practice which is always good!) When I saw Yogabellies advertised on Facebook I requested a prospectus and within seconds of reading it I knew this was the path for me. I started as a Yogabellies pre natal yoga teacher and then started up yoga classes for both Mums and their babies (and baby massage) and now also teach yoga for women at all stages in life and love the variety of classes and the different people I get to meet.

What people have said about my YogaBellies classes...

*Enjoying a rare bath with some beautiful Epsom salts tonight so had to review Ellie’s classes. I went to pregnancy yoga initially which was just lovely – a really great way to prepare body and mind for labour and to meet other pregnant ladies. My son and I have now just started a mum and baby yoga block which looks like it’s going to be just as rewarding. Ellie’s studio is beautiful and her classes are always so welcoming, you don’t need to have tried any yoga before starting as there are different variations of poses to suit all. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of joining.*

*The class teacher was lovely – she managed the perfect balance of being highly professional but very friendly and approachable
The class content varied which was great and the chat at the end with Ellie and the other mums to be was always really nice and helpful especially for a first time mum like me.
I always left the classes feeling amazingly relaxed which is unusual for me as I have a stressful job.*

*This class was the highlight of week, couldn’t wait to go every week and see everyone. I’ve told everyone not only about this class but the YogaBellies brand as well. Think it’s amazing! I can’t wait to come to the next set of classes!!*
