About Me

I have been teaching at Yogabellies Southampton since 2016, and offer a range of classes across the week – check my Facebook page for more details or send me a message 🙂 I’ve been practicing yoga since I was pregnant 9 years ago. I found my pregnancy practice incredibly powerful in making me feel connected to my body at a time when it was changing so radically, and in bonding with my bump/baby. That hour on the mat was the highlight of my week! I then attended both postnatal yoga classes for me (which helped my body recover after a wonderful natural home birth) and baby yoga. Since then I have continued my practice (and my little one still joins in too!). I am an experienced teacher with over 14 years chalked up in the (university) classroom and I enjoying personalising what I teach to who I see on the mat, and what you individually need. No two classes are the same!

Why I became a YogaBellies Teacher...

I wanted to bring together my passion for yoga with my love of teaching. I thrive on empowering women to feel confident and calm in their own bodies, through all the wonderful and varied phases of life. I am especially interested in pregnancy, birth and babies, so YogaBellies was the perfect fit!

I love teaching my classes and seeing the positive benefits yoga brings to women at such a special time in their lives.

Other qualifications

I have an NNEB (nursery nursing qualification), an Honours degree in sociology and a Masters degree in Gender. I am also a qualified Natal Hypnotherapy practitioner.

Pregnancy classes:

Wedsnesdays 7.30-8.45 at The Botley Centre
Thursdays 6.30 – 7.45pm at Woolston Community Centre
Fridays 7pm-8.15 at the 2000 Centre, Hedge End

Mummy and Baby yoga, Mummy and toddler yoga, and baby massage classes run on Wednesdays and Thursdays at Woolston YMCA Centenary Quay, Woolston. Term time only.

YogaBelles Lunar classes run on Thursday evenings from 8-9pm at Woolston Community Centre

I like to be pushed in class and Ani has been very accommodating with this and made sure that my sessions are very continual. However, with this in mind, she can just easily tailor classes to complete beginners and use her fabulous tutoring background to tailor classes to each individual.
