"I am a full time breastfeeding mum to a little boy. I try my best to raise him as a well
socialized green baby. We have used cloth nappies since birth and soon delved into
cloth wipes too once we were passed to cotton wool and water stage. I baby carry
when the weather permits, and I am a great fan of organic baby skin care and essential
oils for solving all the rashes and dry skin that appears. Now that he is onto solids my
food processor will be going into over drive on all the home made organic meals I can
dream up.
We like to keep our schedule packed and have attended baby massage classes,
which have now become part of our daily night time routine. We go to mum and baby
yoga which is always great fun for all the babies as well as a fantastic workout for me.
We attend the local bounce and rhyme and baby cinema which are great for socializing
with other babies and mums, and just having fun with each other, which motherhood is
all about!
Before I fell pregnant I had a dream of a beautiful natural birth, where my baby was
brought into the world peacefully and happily, however when I fell pregnant I found
myself full of anxiety over my own capabilities in child birth, something I had never
experienced before and felt was hard to prepare for - what if everything did not go as
I planned? Through some research I heard that hypnobirthing and yoga were the way to
go to help calm my nerves and prepare for the life changing experience of bringing a
baby into the world. Hypnobirthing worked wonders on my nerves and anxieties, and
made me realize no matter what situations arose during labor I could calmly deal with
them to help achieve the stress and pain free birth I wanted. Yoga was a complete relief
for my body and mind. Acting not only as a fantastic physical preparation for childbirth and motherhood, it helped me relax and find a deeper connection with my baby. I used the relaxation and breathing techniques that I learned throughout yoga and hypnobirthing to help me achieve my home water birth. It was an overwhelming life changing experience and nothing like what I was lead to believe. I held strong in myself and my baby’s capability to birth safely and pain free and I had a beautiful experience without pain relief or medical intervention. I quickly regained my pre baby figure which I feel was predominantly down to the pre-natal yoga which helped keep me in shape.
Pregnancy, labor and motherhood is an incredible journey for a woman and I felt so reassured and gained so much confidence in myself and my baby from the classes such as pre-natal yoga and baby massage. Being a pre-natal yoga and baby massage teacher for yogabellies gives me the opportunity to encourage other mothers to get the most from their journeys and wholly enjoy the entire experience. "
