About Me

I am the very proud mother of two amazing children; Leilani, born in November 2013 and Kai, born in June 2019. I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years now and began my teaching journey with YogaBellies in early 2011. After our daughter was born in 2013 I resigned from the corporate world to pursue a more ‘family friendly’ career as a yoga teacher and holistic therapist. As one of the founding teachers it makes me so proud to see how YogaBellies has grown and is now supporting thousands of women up and down the country and in other countries too! 🙂

As well as teaching yoga I teach meditation to people of all ages and offer a selection of holistic therapies. I can offer healing treatments in the comfort of your own home allowing you to fully relax afterwards. For more information on the treatments I offer please visit http://www.niashanti-therapies.co.uk

Why I became a YogaBellies Teacher...

Yoga is a big part of my life and the miracle of pregnancy, birth and babies is something that I have always been passionate about. When the opportunity arose for me to combine these things I didn’t hesitate and I have never looked back. Being a YogaBellies teacher enables me to do what I love – sharing the joy of yoga with others whilst allowing me to work around my family.

Whilst I do love a challenge on the mat I believe that yoga should be accessible to anyone that wishes to try it, regardless of age or experience. All of my classes provide a supportive, non-judgmental and fun environment to practice in where women are encouraged to honour their bodies and practice yoga in its truest form.

What people have said about my YogaBellies classes...

I can’t recommend Bobbie’s pregnancy yoga class highly enough! I always looked forward to class each week and found that it really helped me to bond with my baby. Bobbie clearly loves what she does and this shines through in her teaching. She creates an environment that is relaxing, fun, supportive and informative and as a result of coming to these classes I felt both mentally and physically prepared for birth (a stark change from the nervous mum-to-be that I was at the start). If you are pregnant and looking for a yoga class – look no further!

I loved attending YogaBellies for Pregnancy with Bobbie so much that I took the course twice right up to my 39th week. The pace and level of the classes was just right and Bobbie is a very welcoming and knowledgeable instructor. I gave birth to my healthy baby boy on 28 Feb 2015 after a 53 hour labour from the time my waters broke to when I delivered. Despite the lengthy duration, I found I only needed to use the yoga breathing techniques practised in class for pain relief for the first 45 hours, only accepting the epidural at the end for the induction since the midwives explained it would produce contractions stronger than those in regular labour. Even then the epidural only worked fully on the left side of my body and again I focused on my breathing techniques to remain in control, using my right leg to position myself in a squat for a successful, active birth. The midwives remarked how calm I had remained throughout the whole labour and I feel I have Bobbie to thank for that.

“I highly recommend YogaBellies to all Local Mums. I thoroughly enjoyed attending prenatal yoga while pregnant with my first baby, using the breathing techniques and postures practiced in the classes I was able to have a wonderful water birth on just gas and air. Without the classes I would not have felt as strong, focused, calm and able to cope. Having never done yoga before I was anxious to start, however I immediately felt welcomed and at ease in the friendly atmosphere that Bobbie, the instructor had created. It was a great opportunity to meet other ladies at all stages of pregnancy. The classes really helped me to connect and bond with my unborn baby which I was struggling to do before and have inspired me to continue yoga practice beyond pregnancy, I look forward to attending Mum & Baby Yoga soon!”

“I recommend YogaBellies to Local Mums. I chose to go to YogaBellies as I was experiencing a very difficult pregnancy and I just wanted to do something that might help me to relax and actually enjoy my pregnancy. The classes really helped me learn relaxation techniques and showed me how breathing could make such a difference. I used these techniques during the emergency c-section that I had to have and they really helped. I really looked forward to the classes each week.”
